The laboratory biorisk management standard is the first internationally recognised management standard to specifically address hazards associated with microbiological laboratories at all containment levels.

Course description
This two day course is designed to help participants acquire the basic skills in conducting an internal audit against CWA 15793:2008 Laboratory Biorisk Management Standard. Participants will learn how to plan and prepare for an audit, acquire skills on auditing, communication and reporting of their findings. This is a highly interactive course where participants will have an opportunity to put into practice what they have learnt during the course.
Learning objective
Upon completion of the course, participants should:
• Understand the roles and responsibilities of internal auditor
• Be able to plan and conduct successful internal biorisk management system audit against the CWA 15793 standard
• Be able to communicate and report the audit findings
Pre-requisite
Participants are expected to have in-depth knowledge of the concepts, principles and requirements of CWA 15793 standard. It is recommended that participants attend the one day foundation course and three day knowledge and implementation course prior to attending the internal auditor course.
