Ship Emission Brochure Updated

The revised Annex (Regulations for the Prevention of Air Pollution from Ships) was adopted by IMO’s Marine Environment Committee in October 2008 with an entry into force date of 1 July 2010.

The existing DNV brochure, based on the Marpol Annex VI entered into force on 9 of May 2005, has been completely reviewed according to the new Annex.

The updated brochure contains the main requirements of the revised Marpol Annex VI including emissions limits and operational requirements, for what concern Nox, Sox, VOC, incinerators and fuel oil quality.

In addition, the brochure gives information on the other local/international regulations concerning air emissions and provides useful guidelines on the main technical aspects /operational implications when it comes to the use of new technologies / low sulphur fuels.
