DNV has developed, in co-operation with Bilfinger Industrial Services, a unique competence standard for Professional Scaffolding Builders, focussing on their skills and behaviour in everyday practical situations.

The certification process starts with screening the identity, available safety and competence certifications and credentials as well as their experiences.
To be eligible for the DNV certification BIS-IS Professional WorkForce, each candidate must pass a practical examination focussing on their professional safety attitude and save behaviour on relevant functional levels.

The certification aims to ensure not only their skills as scaffolders but also their attitude to safe working.
