Removing Asbestos is considered to be a very hazardous activity for the health of the workers as well as the environment.
Therefore, the Dutch Ministry of Social Affairs and Employability (SZW) has enforced mandatory national certification schemes, both for organisations within the asbestos industry as well as for individual asbestos removers and supervisors. These certification schemes can only be operated by certification bodies like DNV, appointed by the Ministry.
On behalf of the Ministry, the Dutch foundation SCA manages the certification schemes.
DNV offers the following personnel certification schemes:
• Expert Supervisor Asbestos Removal (DTA), accredited by the RvA and appointed by Ministry SZW
• Expert Asbestos Remover (DAV), appointed by the Ministry SZW
DNV has licensed two examination institutes to organize the certification exams on DNV’s behalf and under her authority.
